At Lower Barn, we pride ourselves on the standard of our food. Jane and Mike are passionate about simple, locally sourced great food.
Breakfast
Our breakfasts are legendary. They are served around the huge dining table in our conservatory overlooking the garden. The choice is vast, from smoked haddock and kippers to fresh compote of fruits, crème fraiche, warm muffins and Calenick Farm sausages and of course local free range eggs cooked any way you like.
Dinner
We do not serve dinner every night. If you wish to eat evening meal with us, please book before hand to avoid disappointment.
Dinner is served in the Shack. This fabulous building in the Garden will delight your senses.
The menu is small and varied. It is creative and special and we only use local fresh ingredients with flair and style. In June 2007 a journalist from BBC OLIVE to stay with us and wrote the following article in the magazine:
"For a romantic meal to knock the socks off pricier, better known options, eat in the 'shack', a cosy out-building with an open fire,candles and a window out llk onto the stars. BYO wine, no corkage charged. Owner's janie mike make you feel like part of the family and the food demonstrates a deft hand in the kitchen, using local fish (go for catch of the day) meat and dairy."
